CONVERGYS SUCKS

Hello! This is my first official blog. It's like 12:26pm and I'm stuck here at Convergys working. Yes, I'm one of those call center freaks who take in calls while you're all sleeping at night. Gee whiz, been with this company for over a year now.. so called part of the Pioneer batch (wave 1).. but that doesn't really matter because this Company SUCKS!! As in, SUCKS BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's like no room for growth here even if we've been here for a year. You have to kiss some ass if you wanna get promoted here or better yet, lick some ass. YUCK!! As if! As if I'm gonna do that. To hell with them. I'm not the type who would do that noh. No way!! Anyway, this company stinks. They make people think that this is such a great company. It's NOT! The only good thing about this company is the packaging.. but that's just it.. just packaging. Yeah yeah, we have nice billboards and ads and stuff, but once you get in here, you'll realize you made the wrong decision. Convergys is like a HELL HOLE. You have to take LOADS of calls, sell stuff, take in credit card applications and the likes.. with no commission at all. HELLO DUH!!! This is like the only company that doesn't give commission. SUCKS! BIG TIME!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, let's not be hypocrites now, working in a call center IS all about the money. It's not like you can make a career out of this industry and grow old here. Syempre naman, if you're gonna be in the night shift, talk all night, and waste your weekends taking calls, you would want to get lots of money for it.. or money you deserve. DUH!!

Convergys is a dirty and greedy industry which aims to suck out every drop of blood they can from you. Dont get me wrong thats jsut teh way it is, convergys makes money by whipping you to submission. Its a modern day SLAVE ship. next time you call BellSouth now AT&T during day time eastern time do PITY those poor Filipino folks who work like dogs and get paid the scraps. Ture heck I got 100% on satisfation surveys from my callers but sinc eI failed METRICS I get fired sigh.... It sucks but thats just how it is.

I agree with you, it does suck - like the other poster, I'm only in it during school. The worst part of being outsourced though, is that if you were an actual employee of the company you're taking calls for, you'd get way more money.

Btw, I take calls for COMCAST and there is also AT & T in my center

Yeah, this is the sad reality, I have worked with Convergys as well and I am so relieved and happy that I had to leave the company. Based on my experiences there, there is extreme favoritism and mismanagement. Most of the team leads and managers there have no leadership skills. And sadly, if you are not a suck-up, you'll go nowhere. I have seen a lot of brilliant people leave because of disgust on the management. Another sad thing is the work abuse. In Convergys, you will be drained from work. The compensation just could not justify the work the agents are generating. And talking about mismanagement, you will be amazed by how fraudulent agents could be when it comes to sales. Majority of agents do fraudulent sales, very rampant, and management does not care about it. I think as long as they profit from it, they really dont care. It seems that Convergys has become a breeding ground of dishonesty. Frankly, I dont think its the company itself that sucks but the wrong people assigned as managers. Hope the higher management would be able to read this and re-evaluate the people they are appointing as managers. It's just so sad how dishonesty spreads like fire in this company. For the brilliant people working in Convergys, I advice you to resign and move out from the company. I assure you, there are a lot of better jobs out there and it wont be your loss, it will be Convergys'. Dont waste your time and talent for a company that doesnt even value you. By the way, there is life after working in a call center(so many jobs that offer better salaries with manageable responsibilities). Go for the best!!!

I'm at Convergys now and I hate it. None of these people know what thee fuck they're doing. It takes several mins to actually help the customer but the quaility of my calls are at rock bottom even after working here 4 months because my call handle time is too high. I'm resigning as soon as I gets another job. Can't wait for it. Until then, I'm just gonna do whatever I want here and if I get fired, then they'll be doing me a favor.

I've been working here at Convergys for 4 months and there are people who haven't been working here for as long as I have get bumped up. This is all because my call handle time is way too high. The reason for this is because it takes longer than 400 seconds to help a goddam customer get their internet back. As for managment goes. They treat me like shit. I have no static schedual and I work over nights and it's runing my fucking life!!!!!!!!

    Hi:
I am not going to mention my name but I worked at Convergys Houston. They closed our site April 24 2009.
In January, most of us tenured agents applied for and were selected to work on the Direct TV ACE account. We were trained for 4 weeks and transition followed. We were informed that starting in March they were laying off people. They fired more than what they laid off from March to April. Management found stupid reasons to fire people. Those of us who were left on the Direct TV account were told that we were going to work at home. Great right. Wrong answer. As per Convergys corporate standards of screwing people they said that we were not going to be working at home. Management was soooooo sure of themselves, which is a rareity that most of us purchased head sets, computers, and had land lines installed. Unfortunately, we had to eat those expenses. Additionally, They met or supposedly to have met with all of the employees and discuss the so called severence package with them. This is another Convergys deception because I was never included on any of those meetings. A HR representative Amy told us that we would get a certain amount for our severence which would be 1 month pay. Thst sucks especially for those people like myself who have 8 years plus. Moving on to the last week of April two HR representatives met with groups of 10 on the 24 of April, last day. They were nothing but ROBOTS and were uncapable of answering any questions. Their figures for severence were less than what Amy stated. Par for the course for convergys. I informed the HR rep woh is about as intelligent as grease on a door knob that according to my research that the minimum severence pay according to federal law is 1 year. This can be noted by the Sony plant shut down. They paid management and line workers 1 year severence. Additionally, I made the shocking discovery that the Houston OMs and Account Managers got a good size severence which supposedly complied with the above mentioned statement about what the legal requirements were. Unfortunately, when it came down to mr and ms agent with or without tenure Convergys capped the years at 4 years. This means that those people who worked there 5 plus years are loosing. Yes it is sad when Convergys can willfully break the law and give it prize management team who have been promoted to jobs they should never have had due to their lack of cognative capabilities. Furthermore, I received my joke of a severence check which indicated a 3 amount that had deductions taken out for benefits. If I recall correctly, that we were told that our benefits would expire April 30. I am considering having my attorney analyze the socalled contract I signed. If it is an illegal contract I am not bound by any provisions included in it barring me from taking any legal action against Convergys, If it is discovered that they did operate illegally in this situation then well we will just have to see. I guess they need the money to pay their stock holders a bigger dividend and give the CEO and all of the over worked VPs their million dollar bonuses. In short to who reads this beware of Convergys management because they will screw you if they can get away with it. That's yupi PUPPIES I guess. So before your site is closed be prepared for the worst. HR doesn't know what the __________they are doing and lawyers who earn their money doing what they do best screwing you and getting away with it legally

Oh yes I work for this crappy company as well, had one of those stupid PCS surveys today from a disgruntled customer that called in complaining about her phone not being able to send or receive text messages, fixed her problem did the spill where you say, "Have I been able to resolve all your needs", and she said no!! she gave me a bad score, they then came and got me off the phone and made my get with other agents and told me that I needed to show that I cared!! what a bunch of crap!! I'll be glad when I'm gone from this awful place, most of the agents that work there hate it and complain everyday, some agents got walked out the door I was told for having a lot of points they are the fortunate ones, somedays I sit at my workstation and pray and ask God to deliver me from this place of torment, I believe hell may be like convergys, a place of torment where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth

Somehow, I managed to work about five years at a Convergys site. It paid okay, though less than other call centres in town. I guess what kept me there was that after about a year, I started to experience health issues of a respiratory sort, and jumping to a new job when your health is in the toilet is tricky. Meanwhile, I had something resembling job security (when I didn't have an Ops Manager on my back for excessive intellectual honesty) on account that I was competent, and they were desperate. Management was a real mixed bag. Some supervisors were quite good, in a knowledge sense, and an ethical sense; they tended to get shat on a lot. Some nice, but brainless and spineless; these would be the default. The real movers and shakers were micro-managing weasels. The common refrain, when one was faced with something unethical, was, "It's the same everywhere else." I guess I believed it. For that matter, I reached a point where I just sort of took a certain morbid delight in the whole spectacle of it.

It wasn't without its upsides. The location was convenientish. I was good at the job itself (as the client wanted it done, at least). I met my current girlfriend there. There were most assuredly good customers who were a delight to deal with; some of them even offered me jobs if I was willing to relocate stateside. It also seemed that I had me some kick-ass karma. Nice but clueless supervisors left me alone, unless I needed them to be nice. The good ones looked out for me. And the unethical weasels... well, they tried stuff, threatened me, jerked me around, but it _seemed_ like it was always me who came out on top.

But, I paid a price. It turned out that there air quality testing equipment (which looked to have been yanked roughly from an old Soviet Foxtrot-class submarine) wasn't the most reliable, and their insistences that they'd passed all of their air quality audits were basically BS (score one for the weasels). Thus, physically, it was some of the most miserable years of my life. Fortunately, I seemed to recover steadily upon leaving. I needed my inhaler less and less (down from four times a day to not having touched it in a month), and I haven't been visited by bronchitis, sinusitis, or pneumonia since.

Since then, I moved on to better jobs where my contributions were more valued. Then I went back to school. So, things are generally looking up.

My advice to anyone currently trapped there is:
*if you're qualified to do more than flip burgers at MacDonalds, you can do better than here. Keep your eyes open.
*keep the numbers handy for your local regulatory authority which enforces workplace standards. Get your OSHA equivalent to test the air.
*read Machiavelli's 'The Prince' and Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War'. Consider both to be primers for dealing with the internal politics.
*don't take the customers personally. Many of them will probably have good reason to be frustrated. Develop a thick skin and a dark, ironic sense of humour.
*use hand sanitizer, and sterilize your keyboard and headset daily. Minimize use of the company's bathrooms as much as possible. Get your flu shots, and maybe a spectrum of vaccinations for insidious tropical diseases and hepatitis.
*keep a photocopy of any documentation that you turn in to them. Your paperwork WILL be lost.
    *Don't panic.

Oh. One more bit of advice: ALWAYS check your pay stub in detail to make sure you got what's yours. Your odds of being shorted are very high. Make sure that you were paid correctly for overtime. Make sure that the timekeeping system didn't eat your login on a given day. If it's work, make sure you get paid for it. And, do NOT let yourself get "promoted" into a salaried job where you do not get overtime.

Convergys is one of the worst jobs I've had. I was supposed to go down to FL to trains some new hires, and they canceled MY trip because one of the ladies on in my travel group complained about not having the money for expenses ready. Turns out nobody had their expense money ready, they all had to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed, and some had to wait weeks to be reimbursed. Good think I didn't go, got another job while I was supposed to be in FL, walked in to Convergys and quit half an hour before my shift that day.

I finally left that hell hole in June. Ugh I hated that place. Management sucks, the pay is shitty and they short you your pay and they could care less about your life outside that office. Yes the building may be nice, the posters may be nice and the training class may be OK... but it is HELL. I traded that nice pretty office with the beautiful atrium for a company that isn't so beautiful but treats you way better. I just don't understand how this company can get away with treating their employees so damn bad! For instance their point/absenteeism system. You can not go over 12 points and they give you a point for anything. Whether it be you aren't able to drive to work in the snow or you're having back spasms in your desk. If you have an accident on your way to work while attempting to drive in the snow or the ambulance comes and takes you away from your desk in on a stretcher... you are still guaranteed a point or tow. IF ANYONE IS THINKING ABOUT WORKING AT THIS FACILITY... PLEASE RETHINK IT! KEEP DOING YOUR RESEARCH AND JUST GO BACK TO SCHOOL OR LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. CONVERGY'S IS EQUIVALENT TO HELLLLLL!!!

I enjoy my job at Convergys. I get a $650 bounus from directv, and Convergys gives us a performance bonus. If I do what Im supposed to, my handle time is good, and my points are good I can get $1 raise an hour for that month. I mean the money is there if you work for it. I mean no offense but maybe your not getting a promotion or raise because your blogging while you should be working.
I think that convergys should promote people other then your handle time, and your points. I have quite a few however I know EVERYTHING there is to know about directv, but the chances of me getting a promotion is slim to someone who knows absolutely nothing about directv and has no points.
Thats business, its always who you know, but its also what you do.
When you work at convergys you have to be a people person, and love the job.
I mean at convergys you can name your check. I easily make over a grand a check before my bonus because the hours are there, and I take them. Maybe its just directv that gives the hours, but honestly I love my job, and thats the secret to enjoying what you do.

I worked for this company for about a year and a half. Finally got a really good job but before I started they needed to verify my employment with Convergys. My new employer called Convergys and Convergys denied I worked there!! This was not the first time that I needed my employment verified and Convergys denied my employment at that time too!! So I decided a week before my new job started I would just stop going and of course no one from Convergys even called to fire me or see why I wasnt showing up!! No biggie really, but two days before my new job started I went to Convergys to quit and when I told the Team Leader I was quitting her response was "who are you?". Gotta love it!!

I resent the fact that some people on here are actually so stupid that they are saying "if you hate your job, why not resign" when we are in one of the biggest employment crunches in U.S. history. The obvious answer is for those of us unfortunate enough to be working at Convergys (mainly because NOBODY ELSE IS HIRING in our geographic areas) is NOT THERE BY CHOICE but by NECESSITY i.e. rent, utilities, food, and all the other things it takes to survive. If some companies would actually begin hiring again, we could get out of the hell whole we call Convergys and work for a real employer (one that ACTUALLY CARES about its employees) again. Resigning simply isn't a luxury that many of us can reasonably afford. I have worked at Convergys for the last year for the simple reason that virtually nobody else is hiring. Convergys is a revolving door from the get-go because they treat their people like cattle instead of human beings. Hats off to those who are actually surviving there for longer than 6 months, no thanks to the horrific conditions and attendance policy!

First of all, they have so many different programs and different user id's you are expected to master and remember after 1 week WAIT, 3 days!!!! Meanwhile, they tell you that you are GREAT ( I have it in writing) even when you ask for add't help of feel you are getting behind on their "moodles training." for Amazon. They tell you, don't panic, you'll do great!! Personally, I feel, it's a way to shrug you off because they're too damn lazy or have this sense of self importance to bother with you or to be up front, they're too busy pulling workers away from "moodles" for their self important bridge mtgs.ugh April some trainer who's last name escapes me, is a total sneaky weasel, do not trust this person, to make herself look better she will try to get you in trouble. example, I could not log on with my password, she did a screen share, it turns out I had mistyped 1 letter, instead of telling me right there, she snitched to the training mgr. That's teamwork for you! lol The training mgr Lisa H. has no clue (when you question her after she has questioned you re- snitchy back stabbing weasel april) how to justify her trainer's actions, when confronted. That's my blog of them. We were also warned day 1 in training about how the owner of this blog was supposedly fired for having this blog. Way to go HR.

Ms.determined to open their eyes @ convergys. Wrongfully terminated today from the humana program. 1. Team leaders knows no more than the agents. Asking them a question is almost like asking a three year old. "Oh, I don't know let me check. She checks with another agent." 2. When you have a problem you are told to follow the chain of commands. Once you do that, you are on their blacklist. 3. They scamming the elderly out of money. You quote the meds as "zero copay." Once the member receive the meds & invoice it teflects the meds are not a zer copay after all. Members receive meds in the mail they have never taken or heard of. Humana charge the member anyway even after they contact humana to make them aware of this error. 4. They change your work schedule every month without asking you if this time is ok. 5. PTO/UTO: an agent get 3.25 pto hours biwkly. You can't schedule this time when u want too. You have almost beg for your own time. Who wants Uto (unpaid time off) let's not forget about vgh (volunteer go home-no pay. 6. Lord forbids if you become I'll on the job & the paramedics are called because of an anxiety attack and you are taken to the hospital YOU will get a POINT or POINTS. Really? 7. The building leaks everytime it rains. Instead of having the leak repaired they rather allow agents with severe allergies to mold/mildew and agents with asthma breathe these toxic. 8. Back & fourth to the Dr.trying to figure out WHY I am breaking out in hives everyday. Went to visit an allergist & I am allergic to dust, mold and mildew. I was given a Dr.s note for my employer which stated, "when orif I break out with hives I need to leave to see my Dr.,points are adding. 12 points you will be terminated. Regardless of excuseable Dr. Notes.
My Dr. Completed fmla papers & faxed them to the corporate office. Oh lord, when I requested for workers comp paperwork, all hell broke! These HR people asked me to take a drug test to determine why I keep breaking out in hives. Really? Get this, they told me they will call a taxi to transport me too & from. The HR manager Joyce said if I did not go take the urine test IS will be terminated. I'm thinking my health is more important. Why not give me the full workers comp packet instead of a form out of it. 8,9 & 10: This place need to be put on blast and thoroughly investigated! For taking advantage of the elderly. SHUT THEM DOWN!!! These people only want you to do their job they can careless about you or your health. I never want to work a job like this again!

Greetings Convergys agents and to those aspiring to apply a job in this company... It is disappointing for as, reading all this remarks. How can you help others who needs a job, and Complaints are normal, but this kind of comments are disillusive for us... ...dirty works and unprofessional acts of leadership inside the company... HOW CAN THE WORLD CHANGE??? Remember Filipinos are well known for being Patriotic and I myself proud for those Filipinos who are well known internationally for their worthy contribution. We Filipinos are mentally, emotionally and physically flexible in any kind of activity lifestyle.

I love working from home and because I work for Directv I also get free Directv sat. So Awesome. Most of the people on here dont like the call centers. Try Work at home!
